Question Spare MB for HP ENVY Desktop - 700-530qe CTO

My MB Kaili2 died. HP don't sale MB and I can't find exact same (MSI 7826, lga1150, ver2.0).
What kind of problem I can expect with MB ver 1.0?
Could you advise MB for same lga 1150 uATX size (9.6x9.6) and 4 memory slots?

And keep in mind, if you buy the retail brand motherboard, you may need a new case, and you have to buy a copy of the OS, because you can't use the OEM version OS ( HP) with retail brand MB.

If you can't find the MB, and it depends on what cpu did you have? and what do you use the PC for? may consider to buy the whole new PC if you use the PC for games.

I have i7 and lot of memory, so it make a sense just change MB.I hope previous version of mobo will work, only difference z87 instead z97. it means no m2 sata. I am afraid windows 10 will not start with mobo on different chipset.

You may not activate the win10, I think you can boot the PC, but if you had the i7 4790 ( Haswell Refresh ) the Z87 will need the newer BIOS to support the Haswell Refresh cpu. If you had the i7 4770, the Z87 will support the i7 4770 without updating the BIOS.

I installed MB ver 1.0 and all works despite i7 4790. it seems works the same way as with MB ver 2.0. Windows still be activated. Any advise what should I check to be sure all is right?

Good job. Just make sure to update the drivers, like the chipset, network, audio. Also use ccleaner to clean the PC time to time.
