Here's my issue. A few weeks back, a friend of mine spilt a few drops of beer onto my ASUS GTX 960 (the chassis was open) when his bottle tipped. The display went off immediately, and before I could pull the plug, there was a spark from under ( I think) the cover-plate of the GPU. I dried it out with a hair-dryer, and after I was certain the liquid had dried up, I reconnected it and turned the PC on. Here's the bewildering thing. The first few times, the PC did turn on (fans were running), but the display was dead. On further trials though, the display returned, except that my BIOS seems to be corrupted and I keep getting this "Insert boot device to continue" message on an otherwise black screen.
I took the entire tower to the store I'd got it from (they're pretty decent and handle all the warranty stuff too). My card is within warranty period (2 months remaining). They supposedly sent it to ASUS for RMA and two weeks later, they tell me that the card seems to be fine. I am now unsure whether to be relieved or skeptical, since I definitely remember seeing the spark. I haven't collected the PC yet. Would be great if someone could shed some light on what could be the issue, before I go get it back. My specs are:
AMD FX6300 (Black edition)
ASUS GTX960 (4 GB)
GIGABYTE motherboard (don't remember the model number unfortunately)
CORSAIR VENGEANCE (8 GB RAM)
CORSAIR VS550 PSU
SEAGATE 1 TB HDD
PS- I only play DotA2, hence no overclocking was ever required. I also use a UPS for backup power (since power cuts are frequent here).
