Hello everyone,

today while assembling a computer without a case I accidentally touched the wrong pins with the screwdriver on the connector of the power switch, this caused a spark at that point, but I did not hear any smell of smoke or burned.

Now, when I try to turn on the computer, the screen POST and shows this error message:

USB Device Over Current Status Detected !!

Because of this error, I do not have time to even access the BIOS, the error message also appears when there is no USB device connected to the back of the computer.

Do you know how to solve this problem according to you?
I have already tried to remove the battery and make a clear cmos without success .. :(

The motherboard in question is an Asus P5KC!

Thank you very much in advance!!

The problem lies in the motherboard, in the area where the USB ports reside or in any other part, I can exclude the front USB ports because I disconnected from the motherboard the cable dedicated to the front USB of the case.

What can I do in this case?

I left the motherboard to rest outside the case for about a month, then I double-checked the socket and I noticed that a pin was completely bent and distorted, it was quite difficult to put it on its feet but after doing the pc worked perfectly and no kind of message on the overcupent usb appeared.
Thank you very much
