[SOLVED] Sparkle 8800 gts 512mb

I just bought the sparkle 8800 gts 512mb and i bought codegen 500w psu.Will it be enought to power the card?My pc is pretty potato and i was running the whole system on a 230w psu.Will 500w be enought?

A 500 W will be enough. However, that power supply is not very good (it's bad). You should replace it with a better quality 500 W power supply.

As long as the power supply has the necessary PCIE power ports for the graphics card, you should be ok.

My psu has one 6 pin connector and graphic card requires one.Will it be ok to try and power my system?

If the power supply has the necessary connectors, it should be ok. If it only has one PCIE power cable though, I'd probably be looking to upgrade it at some time in the near future.

What exactly are you planning on using the system for? You really should ask about the parts before you buy them since I doubt anyone on the forums will say getting that video card and power supply is a good idea.

8800 GTS is a pretty famous card, but it's almost a decade old and is known for overheating and dying and using up quite a bit of power. Pairing it with a low quality power supply is like taking a car with bad tires and installing a turbo on it.

Just an FYI, I only recently replaced my 8800GTS-640 (which is even older).
