Spdif connector on motherboard

I have no sound over hdmi to Visio M420NV through my GE Force 9800 GT graphics card? perhaps not connected spdif correctly? Connected on lower right corner, 4 pin - 2nd pin missing connected to 2 adjacent pins on HT 2000 motherboard. MCP61Pm-AM. REV:1.0A. BIOS: Phoenix 6.00, Kind regards.

I've done some further research and the motherboard is manufactured by ECS Micro ATX
with an AMD AM2 socket by Acer.

resolved issue! ge force 9800 was never going to carry audio; i found this out from a clerk at office depot. I chose to "watch" sound bars on eBay over buying a sound card. Bought a Samsung sound bar with individual inputs for hdmi tv and 35mm analog cable - computer head phones out. everything programmed into Harmony One and I'm good to go. Thank you very much.

I bought a nice samsung sound bar on ebay. analog connection for computer, digital connection for t.v.
Sound all - around, $300 bar for $31 (local pick-up) Happy Ending!
