I recently installed a new graphics card (XFX 6450) graphics card after the old one died. However now the speakers are not being detected instead going through the HDMI port which is not being used. When the speakers are being plugged they are not being detected by Windows. I have tried re-installing the drivers for the graphics card but still the speakers still aren't being detected. Is there any way to stop the sound going through the HDMI and instead through the speakers. When looking in the sound in control panel the speakers are not listed there.

Hello... Did you unplug/Ajar a connector in your Computer when you were putting your Video card in?
What is your hardware for the speakers to make sound?
Where are you plugging your speakers into?
Connectors on Computer you are trying to use?
What software driver does it use?
What OS software are you using?

Checked all connection and none of them have been knocked out. I have tried plugging the speakers into the green audio port on the back of the motherboard and the front and no sound. I have tried two sets of speakers and headphones and none work. I believe the speakers running of realtek audio. Running Windows 7 32bit home premium

Hello... if you unplug your new video card, does your sound Realtek come back on?
Are you sure you have Realtek onboard?
What is your PC parts brands and models?
If you reloaded Realtek software, then you you need to go into Control Panel-Realtek HD Audio Manager and setup your settings for it.
If Windows Doesn't see the REALtek then the BIO's is not telling Windows it's available, you shorted/disconnected/broken your MB/BIO's/Realtek connection.

Thanks for your help. I have just tried uninstalling all the drivers and programs related to realtek and audio. I went onto the realtek website, downloaded the appropriate driver and installed it and the sound is now working. Don't know why it suddenly stopped working.
