Speakers not detected. We've tried *everything*.

They work for phone & laptop but on PC they don't appear in the Sounds menu.

We have googled and tried everything. Anybody have any strange/unusual solutions? It's a code 10 in device manager, aka unable to start.

I understand, but a free solution would be the best option as we don't want to spend even more money on this ~$1500 PC.

Another option would be returning the board, to be replaced, if under warranty.

We've been considering that but as it's a prebuilt, unless it's a hardware error, it could cost upwards of $200 dollars so we're hoping somebody knows.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS, uninstalling the driver, restarting and reinstalling? Tested both rear and front (if any) audio ports?
