speakers not detected

hello, i just open my computer hen suddenly my win7 says it cannot detect my speakers, although its completely plugged in. checked device manager and it says that there is a high definition audio device detected and its working properly but there are no sounds. also the amd high audio definition icon is gone on my desktop

Click on the speaker icon on your task bar and click on the speaker icon at the top of the slider.

i have no speaker icon on the taskbar, so i had to click the speaker icon on the slide with an x on it, i right clicked then choose playback device - and it says no plugged devices.
