Speakers not working early 2011 macbook pro

Hi all, I recently bought a macbook pro 2011 with the quad core i7 and I love most things about it but the biggest bummer is the speakers. When it boots, only the right speaker works and they are not at all shown in the OS. The only available output is the digital out so I thought it was and issue with that but after cleaning and finding that the switch was working properly for the digital out, I think I have nailed it down to the speakers themselves. Plugging in headphones work but when I try to turn up the volume with the speakers on it will not work and have an O with a slash through it. Please help!

Well not sure what anyone online can help you with, most likely issue is the laptop has bad speakers, physical issue. Either speaker was blown, connection is loose. Have a tech look at it.
