Speakers stopped working after installing windows 8!!!!

I recently have installed Windows 8.1 Pro. The problem is I connected my speakers at the back jack and they are not working no sound is coming out of them but in windows 7 they worked fine. I checked the speakers with my mp3 player and they are working fine. In the taskbar there is no red cross over the speakers so that shows that I have speakers connected and If i play song the green slider go up and down showing that sound is coming but no sound in speakers. Hope you guys help soon.

Right click on the volume icon in task bar, goto payback devices and the change the standard device back from hdmi to speakers.

For some reason it is showing like this (http://imgur.com/StjnZ9c) I don't know why it says headphones when I have connected speakers.

And I am not connected through HDMI I am connected through VGA cable.

Try to install the win8 audio drivers for your motherboard. It's most likely the realtech driver, that handles the switching of front an back plugs.

Installing the realtek driver didn't help. I have Dell Optiplex 755 Tower and I they don't have audio drivers for windows 8 for 755 yet.

I have tried every driver there is of optiplex 755 and none of them solved my issue. Please help guys.
