Speakers will hardly play any sound and are distorted

Hi,

These are the speakers I have:

I decided to plug in some headphones into the main speaker and had a hard time to get the audio to work. After being satisfied, I unplugged the headphones but now my speakers play very very quietly and is distorted somewhat.

What happened?

I've had these speakers for years and had no problems. I've tried many, many things to try and fix this issue but have failed thus far.

OS: Windows 7 Premium Home 64x

Check the audio port directly with headphones, both front and back. If that doesn't work, it might have been your motherboard. If it does, try resetting anything you did on the speakers and try again.
