Let me start off by saying I didn't really know where to put this thread, it goes to show I might have a bit of a unique problem. Recently my headset broke and I had to use a desktop microphone with some desktop speakers and it works fine until I'm in a chat with a group of people and the playback is terrible for them. I am just wandering is there software or anything I can do for it not to pickup playback from the speakers. I understand it doesn't really make sense but understand I'm not trying to go and pay for another headset...

Solution
If you go into configure audio devices there is a set up for voice recognition and and some other things.
Try using the voice training. I don't remember the exact steps but used it for VOIP and headsets and it cured similar problems. Also it could be a driver issue.

P.S. There is an option to reduce playback of other devices volume while in VOIP and the like.. I use 80%.

Sort of going with TbsToy here....

Right click the speaker icon in the lower right screen area. Select Recording Devices (microphones) and then Playback Devices (speakers).

Check the respective Properties. Via your speakers select Properties and then the Levels tab. You may be able to balance things out a bit.

And there may be other advanced settings to help adjust things. Look about.
