[SOLVED] Speccy says my 3200mhz RAM (2 x 8GB) is running at 1332mhz ?

just got a new desktop = CPU can run RAM up to 2933mhz so why Speccy shows my 3200mhz RAM running at 1332mhz ?:eek:
It depends on what your Bios reads from your RAM and if your CPUs IMC will support the rated frequency. You have chosen 3200Mhz OC RAM so no guarantee they will work out of the box.
As they don't work it's best to manually program the SPD for Timings and Voltage in Bios.
Just have one DIMM module in the slot for single channel mode to test.
If your confused or not sure then list the Part/ No or SKU of the kit you have.

What is the make/model of your motherboard and processor?
You motherboard technically needs to be able to overclock ram to run at 3200.
It may not have such settings available.
Your ram is likely running at 2666 if it is in dual channel mode.
 
Keep in mind that the advertised data rate of DDR RAM is double what the memory modules are actually clocked at, and some utilities will report one number or the other. So "1333 MHz" means your RAM is actually running at DDR4-2666 speed. You will likely need to enable the proper XMP profile in your motherboard's BIOS settings to get it running at full speed.

More so for ryzen than intel.
But not so much that it impacts gaming much.
Graphics performance is usually more important.

You can tell single/dual if you run cpu-Z and look at the memory tab.
You want each stick to be installed in different channel slots.
Your motherboard manual will have such instructions.
