A long time ago I used an app called Speccy that identified many characteristics of my System. Is it still around? If yes, is it worth using?

Yes it's still around I have it.
It's a tool that shows some info about the pc.
Easy to use.

Yes, Speccy from Piriform is still around, still worth using, and there's still a free version.

Speccy is now distributed by CCleaner - but don't let that alarm you. The installer won't install any unwanted extras. You can get it from here.
