Hello,
Are there any specs on site or can someone make a recommendation for building a system with the goal of working with Adobe Design Standard CS5.5?

CS5.5 supports hyperthreading, so a 2600K on a Z68 board would seem to be a priority for a build.

Probably 8GB of RAM and a good video card. Something like a 6850.

But how much are you planning on spending?

Budget is key. The Intel i7-2600K on a Z68 board would indeed be the best option but the whole machine will probably run you $1300-$1500.

The Intel i7-2600K is $300. It i5-2500K is only $200 and has similar specs but the hyperthreading on the 2600K is going to make a huge difference.

There are a lot of motherboards to choose from. My personal favorites are the ASUS P8Z68-V line. The LE model is $133, the PRO is $200, the DELUXE is $250, and so on. As you go up you get more items in the port cluster and you get "better" PCIe 2.0 x16 slots for your graphics cards. The PCIe slots aren't going to make a difference since you're probably not going to be using more than one video card and you can decide for yourself if you need the larger port cluster.

The rest of the components are too hard to judge without a budget in front of us. Fill out the following link:

Thanks for everyone's input. I would like to mention that this is going to be my first build. I plan to have some live coaching during my building process. I just want be clear that Adobe Design Standard CS5.5 in not for video editing or anything like that; rather it is about using InDesign. I got the following system requirements from Adobe:

System requirements
Windows

* Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor
* Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 3; Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise with Service Pack 2; or Windows 7
* 1GB of RAM or more recommended
* 7.7GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on removable flash storage devices)
* 1024x768 display (1280x800 recommended) with qualified hardware-accelerated OpenGL graphics card, 16-bit color, and 256MB of VRAM
* Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0
* Some features in Adobe Bridge rely on a DirectX 9–capable graphics card with at least 64MB of VRAM
* DVD-ROM drive compatible with dual-layer DVDs

I was hoping a member had built a system or two for CS5.5 and my question(s) would not be too big of a drag on their time.
