Speech Synthesizer, anyone bumped?

Hi

Have anyone bumped while surfing in cyber world into somekind of
quite free speech synthesizer? I mean those ones you send some text
or line as a parameter, and then it simply voices it out with
a human voice? these kind of programs seems to be very hard to
find...

I am doing just a computer program and I need the soundcard to voice out
somethings, as reporting to user short lines.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks
