Speed difference between i3-7100 vs Pentium 4560 vs Pentium 4620

I current have 4 1/2 yr old AMD A10-5700 (3.4, turbo 4.0)w/Radeon HD 7660D. Would any or the above cpu's running (HD630, HP630 and HD610) be a noticeable improvement that can been seen.
i3-7100 (3.9), Pentium G4620 (3.7, Pentium G4560 (3.5). Would mind speeding a little to get noticeable performance increase. Thx

The performance difference is that the Pentiums have lower clocks than the i3, the G4560 is the best value hands down, the other two aren't worth the money comparatively.
You can run it with anything up to a 1060 6GB without issue.
What are your full specs atm and what is your budget?

Trying to upgrade old computer, but wifey needs to see an improvement. Also thinking abut replacing mobo (lacks Uefi) and maybe get B250M (any suggestions here>), as well as 450-watt Bronze psu (Evga or corsair) and DDR4-2400 memory.

I'll be checking out within 6 months, so I want my old desktop to get modernized (especially 4 1/2 yrs old (no name) psu) Thanks for any info and your wisdom. Of course, I'd like to try a keep it at or below $300, if possible. Thanks again.

As volatile as changes are right now, wait until you are ready to purchase and ask the question again.

Keep in mind that the purpose of the build is very important (gaming, editing, streaming etc.)

Yes it would be a great upgrade, although tbh I would just get a fresh rig altogether, all your components are quite dated.
Save up $500 and PM me or reignite this thread when you're ready to buy, 6 months is a very long time, and you well end up waiting for the 11 series of Nvidia GPUs or picking up a 10 series cheap.

When I indicated I would probably be checking out - I met it literally. I currently undergoing liver cancer therapies. I have well advanced cirrhosis that granted the privilege of higher risk for cancer. Well - got them. Treatment is not curative just trying to slow down , maybe arrest the cancer tumors, all 11 (at last count). Dr cnan only "maybe" extends #$ of days to months/ Time will tell.

Sorry to be a downer. About my favorites thing is my computer and searching the net. This upgrade would mainly to update computer (esp psu) so I thought I might as well upgrade mobo, cpu, ram, psu. AND I, or wife, can add GTX 1050 Ti later if desired. I thing the integrated HD 630 might be sufficient. We'll try it as see.

The mains time we spend on it is playing installed BEJEWELED 3 and 2, and Solsuite Solitare. Don't know is if 1050 Ti is needed at this time. HOPEFULLY, I get the components with some time to player with them. I would LOVE to speed things up from the A10-5700 enough to notice it. This should future-proof the desktop for 4-5 more yrs, Thanks for your assistance.

Christ that sucks.
The HD 630 isn't going to be enough for gaming, you'll want at least a 1050 for esports titles and optimally ssomething like an RX 480 or 1060 for graphically intensive stuff which I should be able to fit in with $500.

Your old cpu has 4 core/thread. It should be suffice in term of cpu power. If you really want a real upgrade, an SSD will boost up your total performance. GPU will help but since you only playing bejeweld and solitaire, there should not be the issue.

For me SSD is a must. Ever since cpu has 4 core, the HDD has been the one that dragged all pc performance until SSD came to economical value. My old amd phenom II X4-B55 (4 core also) was boost with an SSD and still using it now for my office use. If you are using window 7 or above, using SSD will make the start up under 10 seconds (counted after bios load finish).

Since you are using only those game, a 120Gb or 240Gb SSD should be enough.

Trouble is, I like this toaster. I had to do a lot of research to locate Win-7 (time was crossing over to W-8, which I did NOT want. But I got exactly was I wanted. I would just like to upgrade a few component for when I'm gone, wife won't have to worry about psu. And trying to future-proof some at the same time, for around $300 + or -.

No, the included stock cooler is plenty.
Get the G4560, the G4620 only offers slightly higher clock speeds, little to no difference and saves you $30.

EVGA don't make AMD graphics cards, and for $20 more the 1050 is a better deal for several reasons. Runs cooler and faster than the 460, and is an EVGA card, meaning you'll have fantastic support and assistance if needed later down the line, build quality is also another plus compared to some of the dodgy support from companies like Power Color who aren't very reliable.
