Speed fan and Bios giving me different temps?

Hello, i just recently installed speed fan on my newest build. Every temp seems accurate on it except for the cpu temp. According to speed fan the cpu temp is 128C!! I'm amazed a system could even run at that temp. So instead of panicking too much i checked my bios temp, and as expected it was much much much lower. My system was running at 40C. My Cpu is a 4670k and has the stock fan installed. So thats about the average temp for that model of cpu. So whats going on here? Is Speed fan Reading the cpu temp wrong or is my cpu somehow jumping to 128C right after start up? (lols)

Hi,

I think somehow Speed Fan has just overstated the temperature reading and your BIOS reading is somewhat more realistic than Speed Fan since an I5 4670K max operational temperature is just around 72C.

Use this instead: http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

I'm not sure why people use Speed Fan as it constantly gets temperatures wrong, and you are likely better to use the motherboard's own fan control software.
