Speed Issues With A Master/Slave Router Setup

Hey guys, so I am connected through the normal means of setting up a Master and Slave router. However I'm on gigabit speeds and everything that I'm using is gigabit compatible. My current download with the Master/Slave setup is 95down/94up. When I don't use the Master/Slave setup I get 930down/250up (my pc plugged directly into the master router). I don't know if there's something on the Slave router that I did wrong but it sure seems like that. Any help is greatly appreciated and IP settings of both routers are below. I'm also open to trying a LAN-WAN setup, currently doing a LAN-LAN setup if that wasn't obvious.

Netis WF2780 (Slave)
IP: 192.168.1.2
DHCP Server: Disabled
DNS:192.168.1.1 (Master Router's IP)

Zyxel EMG3425-Q10A (Master)
IP: 192.168.1.1
DHCP Range: 192.168.1.3 (Pool Size 50)
DNS: ISP's (Don't feel like saying for DDoS reasons)

Solution
There was a time when it mattered. I have an old switch where one port was labeled input and it did the crossover internally. I have another that had a button that on was crossover and off was regular. Modern equipment has crossover detection and adjusts accordingly, so it is no longer an issue. It was the only thing I could think of after misunderstanding your config.

Glad it's working.
There is nothing obviously wrong with the setup. Sounds like you got a wonky cable or the Netis won't do the full gigabit for some reason. Most Ethernet ports have lights that indicate the connection speed (orange for 100 Mbps and green for 1 Gbps, or something like that). Are the ports indicating a gigabit connection?

So after more troubleshooting for some reason there's a communication issue between both routers. I found a gigabit switch that wasn't being used and everything is good now. My ethernet port lights were and currently are orange, which I thought would change since I am getting my gigabit speeds now. So I don't know what's going on with that and my drivers are up to date as well. I'm not that concerned about the lights since I am getting the speeds regardless.

Thank you very much for your response :)

Different equipment uses different colors to indicate speed. Sorry if I made it sound like orange was always 100 and green was always 1 gig ... that was just an example. Putting a switch between fixed the issue ... I wonder if you were using a crossover cable and that irritated one of the routers.

No worries, wasn't sure if the color mattered that much. I do know what you're talking about because I've had mobos' with a green light ethernet port. Just checked the cable and it's a CAT 6 Patch cable, not crossover. Looked up the definition of a crossover cable and it seems like I should be using one to connect both routers for that config. Please correct me if I'm wrong with that line of thinking.

P.S. I saw that I wasn't clear enough with my explanation with my current config. I'm using a Router to Switch config, not Router to Router and they're connected using the CAT 6 Patch cable.

Gotcha and makes sense, I'm definitely going to pick up a crossover cable eventually in case I ever want to do a Master/Slave config in the future for something. Thanks for your help, I definitely learned a couple of new things thanks to you!
