Hello,I have 240MB fibre broadband in Ireland. When I do a speedtest while connected to the ethernet,I average about 200 Mbps download and 25 Mbps upload.I have trouble with using wifi. While using the built in wifi on the modem router,I get about 17 mbps download and 25mbpds upload.I recently bought a netgear D1500 router to try and improve these speeds. The results did not change. It also doesn't matter how close I am to the router, the speed is always the same (17mbps download and 25mbps upload). As you can see,the upload speed does no change between ethernet and wifi but the download speed drops by over 90%.Does anybody know what the cause of this is?I can only use Wi-fi because my pc is upstairs and my modem is a cable modem and Upc don't allow the use of DSL modems.Help is much appreciated!!!

Have you tested any additional wifi devices with the network?

Now you are never going to get 200 mbps with wifi, evne on a 300mbps connection as half of the bandwidth is for transmit and half is receive thus the absolute perfect lab speed would be 150, closer to 100-120.

It is suspicious about your download speed though.

Have you tried to download a different dirver for your wifi card?
