Just look at the screen shot taken of task manager. It says that the speed of my memory is 1600MHz. I have installed 3200MHz. What am I not getting?

I had issues with my memory displaying the wrong amount, 2133MHz. I read up on it, and know now that it was because of me not enabling XMP or whatever.
I have the ROG Strix B450-F Gaming, and in the bios there wasn't an XMP setting but there was a D.O.C.P Standard profile which apparently was the equivalent, so I enabled that.
It said on the bios the target amound was 3200MHz, and it booted, no issues, except for this.

Why is it halving what I'm meant to have? Is this just the way task manager displays total ram? Please help.

Thanks all.

DDR stands for Double Data Rate. The RAM executes a cycle on both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal. What is advertised is the effective data rate. What is displayed is the clock rate. If you dig deep enough into the documentation you will find that what is displayed at the "Speed" label is the clock rate.

So a 1600 MHz CLOCK rate is the same as an effective rate of 3200.

My thought is RAM installation and/or configuration.

Do you have the User Manual for the motherboard?

I found the following link:

https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...ING/E14401_ROG_STRIX_B450-F_GAMING_UM_WEB.pdf

Do verify that that is the correct manual for your motherboard.

First check that the installed memory modules are supported by the motherboard.

Physically check that the memory modules are fully inserted in the correct slots for the desired configuration.

In the manual, check Section 3.4 and other memory related sections to ensure that some configuration setting has not been overlooked or misconfigured.
