Well, it's not bad, it's more of preference, some people might like it, some might not. I personally like 27-28 inches, it just seems better for me. But if you want 144Hz monitor, then yeah, it'd be a really good choice, it's one of the best 144Hz.

I'd only get 144Hz if you're planning to play a lot of hardcore and competitive games like shooter games. If you're just going to play slow games like minecraft or Fable, then you won't need the extra Hz.

Thank for the recommendation, Lone . . . what about that one's lower ms time and refresh rate? I'm unclear on the relative merits of these feature as my 10-year-old Dell monitor was great before it went dark :)

Unless you're a super hardcore PC gamer, you won't notice a thing between 1 ms and 5 ms of response time (literally).

High hz isn't just for those who play hardcore competitive games. It is those who value smooth, responsive gaming over higher still image quality. Both have merits and depends on the person.

Are you one who always needs 60+ FPS, who doesn't like V-sync because it messes up the responsive feel of a game? Then you'll probably prefer a 144hz monitor.

If you are one who prefers to turn the settings as high as possible, even if you drop below 60 FPS, and you don't notice the responsiveness drop, or just don't care, you'll probably prefer the 1440p monitor.

1440p is out of his price range.

Well then, that takes the question right out of it. I'd most definitely choose the 144hz monitor. Both are TN, both are 1080p. It is simply a choice of 144hz or 3 inches. I'd think 144hz would win out, especially with so many that seem to think 27" is too big for 1080p.

The larger the screen is, the larger each pixel is. Many people find that 24" is the largest a monitor should be to maintain a decent pixel per inch. I personally like my 27" 1080p monitor, but there are a lot of people who think it is too big.

Yup, he's right, I switched from a 28 inch UHD monitor to a 58 inch UHD TV, and I noticed some things are a bit more blurry than when I was on the 28 inch, like texts and icons. So the bigger it is, the slightly more blurry it'll be. If my TV was just normal HD, it'd probably just be a big blur.

If you want the latest and most popular, get the gtx 970, it'll be enough to run 1080p ultra settings or get a 2nd later and run 1440p ultra if you wish.

19" Dell monitor (2005) died, so upgrading to 27" -- but that's apparently bad at 1080 so considering new video card. Or a 24" 1080 x 1920 Asus 1 ms 144Hz model.
Thanks
