[SOLVED] speed stuck at 100 mb

i have a fiber optic 1gb connection with full cat 6 ive swapped out with cat 5e changed all the cords no difference it says its a 1g ethernet and the router is at 1g but the computer wont accept more than 100mg every other device is at 1g

Put a gigabit switch in-between the PC and router. See if that makes any difference. With a switch in the middle, you can see which side (which port) is auto negotiating to 100Mbit. The PC or the router.

do you know if the ethernet adapter in your PC is capable of more than 100mb? some lower end PC's and parts do not come with 10/100/1000mbps adapters

it might be the PC's Ethernet adapter, router or switch, they all need to be gig rated.

Very simple. Somewhere along the path u got an old 10/100 ONLY piece of equipment. U upgrade that puppy and the dam opens.
