Speedfan and GPU temp

I am using Speedfan to monitor my temps and it says that my GPU is at 0 degrees C. It sometimes jumps up to ~45-55 but then right back down to zero and stays there.

I downloaded CPUID HWMonitor to make sure my GPU wasn't the problem only to realize that

(1) CPUID HWMonitor doesn't have a GPU monitor
and
(2) the CPU temps for Speedfan and HWMonitor are different (like, really different - ~50 C for HWMonitor and ~35 C for Speedfan)

A few questions - which one is correct? What is the best (most trustworthy) temperature monitor? Why on earth does it say my GPU is at zero C on Speedfan?

The most trustworthy monitor is the utility, that came with your mobo. There is no way to measure temps. It's alway voltage and the changes represent a change of the temperature. But the voltage change is not linear with the temp and the change is dependent on the type of sensor and the implementation of the manufacturer. That's why it is always different and never correct and why every new chipset and mobo needs a new version of Speedfan.
