speedfan can not control fan?

hello so im trying to control my fans using speedfan, i have two identical case fans. i can control the one that are plugged in the 4 pin connector, but the one that are plugged in the 3 pin connector i cant seem to control why is that?

The fourth pin on your fan connector is a control pin. This is why you can control the 4 pin ones but not the 3 pin.

Some 3-pin fan headers support voltage control to adjust fan speed, the 4th pin is just enabling a different type of fan control called PWM.

If none of the 3-pin headers on your motherboard support fan control, you'd have to add a separate fan controller.

There are internal fan controlers... and they take up a CD drive bay in your rig.. INside them they have the 4 pin connector, allowing you to control all your fans.. have a look:

They practically never specify, so you either have to test it yourself or google around for other people's experiences.
