SpeedFan immediatly not responding when opened

I can't get SpeedFan to work, whenever I load the program it freezes and it stops responding. Is there a solution to this? Or an alternative program that can be used?

Depends what you're trying to do with Speedfan, are you trying to monitor your temps or modify your fan/fan speed's with it? If for monitoring, then look into HWMonitor by CPUID.

You will need to specify your full system's specs inclusive of your OS and connected peripherals as well the programs that may be running in the background. I own the First Gen Rampage Extreme and the system wouldn't freeze but ti would report incorrect numbers/values when I have AI Probe II and CPU-Z open with Prime95 burning.

The regular run of the mill suggestions would also be to see if your BIOS is up to date alongside your chipset drivers.
