Here's the current build -- I have $500 to burn and I want to significant enhance calculation speed in Excel. My software model calcs a 30 MB spreadsheet, captures various cels and then re-calcs x 10,000. It takes 30 minutes and it's making me nuts.

More RAM? Xeon 1231v3? New mobo? What do you think boss?

Solution
What version of Excel?

Have you set it to use more than 1 thread for formulas?

You can control the number of threads that Excel assigns to the calculation process using File–>Options–>Advanced Options–>Formulas. The number of threads assigned can be larger or smaller than the number of logical cores available.
