Speeding up the CDROM

I have a 40x Sony CDROM.

I realised that different brands of 40x CDROM runs at different speed to one another.

Is there a way to optimize or overclock my CDROM? Is it worth doing it?

You can speed up datatransfer by enabling DMA, but I don't think that is what you mean.
Never heard of OC'ing a CD drive.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground .
