Hey all,

So I just updated my modem to a TP-Link Archer C2. For some reason ever since I've got it - at one point through the day my DL speeds will drop down by 1/2 and stay there. This is actually when wired straight from the router to the PC.

As soon as I reboot the router, speeds go back up to 100% (from 12Mbps to 25 Mbps) however at some point during the next 24hrs they drop back down until I reboot.

I've updated the firmware to the latest, and tried contacting TP-LINK who have no idea.

Its a DSL connection that is bridged through my modem/router combo (which never experienced this problem, just had crummy wifi signal) to the Archer.

Any ideas? TP-Link said just take it back, but if there's something on my end I could do before I waste anyones time I will.

Thanks!!

Solution

Return it, try again with another one.
If you can get a better router, I am a big fan of ASUS routers.

Solution
Thanks folks.

It wasn't near any heat sources, and to be honest the WIFI speeds weren't that great to begin with, so I just got rid of the problem and took it back. I hooked up an older router (a TPLINK with only N speeds) for the time being, and it's good enough for now.
