A few days ago I spilled some soda and it went through my fans into my desktop. This all happened as I was shutting down the computer. The computer was shutting down and then the desktop screen just went black and the computer wouldnt power down, so i manually turned off the power supply. Now it wont turn on.
Over the last few days ive been testing different parts and so far the the graphics card still works and I tested the power supply with a paperclip, and that turned it on. The problem I have is that it just wont boot up and its making me think that this is the problem of the motherboard. I wanted to ask for help if anyone has any tips on what to do. Thanks for your responses.

Paper clip tests are very ominous. The paper clip method asks you to have a fan or some such to simulate a load. It doesn't indicate how much of a load the PSU can handle before giving up. Which is why I'm certain that the PSU is the culprit here. FYI, you should probably keep a transparent sheet above the case if you have a tendency to spill soda like that, it could've taken out more than your desktop.

Thanks for the response. I also forgot to mention that I tried to use a different power supply from an older computer which works and that also didn't get the computer to boot up.

Going to go test it one more time with the power supply that i know works for sure.
