Hello guys! recently I spilled water on my HP Victus and quicky brough it to some guys who left it to dry for 2 days. It works fine but whenever I close my laptop and then after some time, I tried open it again it shows an error saying, "boot device not found". what I do is I reset it, what I seem to notice is that whenever I plug it in, it seems like the battery was drained, I really don't know what the problem could be like if it is anything major that I should really be concerned about. I still can use it as normal I even can play very heavy games and it performs really well like always; it is only whenever I leave it to sleep, and when I come back after long periods of time (say an hour or 2) shows that error. If y'all have some ideas on what the problem could be or had a somewhat experience like this, please let me know!

I also noted whenever it shows the error, and then proceed to turn it off and on, the charger LED lights blinks for a second or two.

just drying is not sufficient
open it up, unplug all connections and clean alle including the unplugged cables/plugs with Isopropyl alcohol or similar cleaning chemical like electronics cleaner
after that dry for one day

either the hard drive or the motherboard has a problem or just the connection between

Might not matter at this point. It's been turned on since the spill and could have shorted or compromised various components.

It's definitely still worth doing what you suggested but @ OP, don't expect it to magically fix it. Might fix it, might not.

Thank you for all your suggestions and answers! I was afraid that there was an issue with the motherboard since maybe there was some corrosion in it. I took it to another place, open it up and apparently it was one of the drivers that were inside the hard drive, I got that changed and now it works fine!

I have been using it now for several days and I have no issues with it so far, it's working the same as it was before the spill.
