Spilt Drink on Mouse

I spilled a drink on my desk and went in-side of my Razer Mamba Tournament Edition , about 5-6 hours later I noticed I could not left click (BTW the drink was fizzy) , I un-plugged my Mouse and plugged in my backup gaming mouse and that worked , I left the Razer Mamba unplugged I left it for about 3-4 hours plugged it back in and now the left click is fully working and so is every other part of the mouse, (The Razer Mamba was new)(3-4 Days old) was it a coincidence that it stopped working or did the Soda/Fizzy Drink Temporarily Damage my Left Click?

It could have been temporarily shorting out the mouse until it dried.
I dont know why you would still be using the mouse before you let it dry fully.
