Spin Retry Count

A couple days ago noticed my HDD did not appear on My Computer window, after shutting down the computer disconected every SATA device and connected them again, after a couple of tries with diferent device combination (SSD + HDD, HDD + Optical) and changing from one SATA conector of the MOBO to another finally detected it again once left everything the same it was at the start (Hate problems solving themeselves, cant learn anything from it).
After successfully starting the OS and detecting the HDD, HDSentinel starts throwing SPIN RETRY COUNT error (everithing else is fine), at first was 3 retries, the went to 25, then the computer went BSOD and back to not detecting.
Changed SATA cable on the HDD and placed it for better airflow on its controller (After booting Spin Retry Count went up to 1.638.405), now after a day and half it seems to be working fine and the SRC hasn't increased at all.

So, here my question:
- Should i be worried make a backup and start the warranty procedures?

I'd strongly recommend you back up all the data from this HDD somewhere off-site immediately! Afterwards, make sure you run the HDD manufacturer's brand-specific diagnostic utility and see how it passes all the tests from there (Long/Short or Quick/Extended ones, they are called differently depending on the manufacturer).
It's also recommended to check how the hard drive will pass these SMART attribute tests from another working PC (if you have access to one). This parameter usually indicates the count of retry of spin start attempts. This attribute stores a total count of the spin start attempts to reach the fully operational speed (under the condition that the first attempt was unsuccessful). Spin attempts are counted for the entire hard drive's lifetime so far.
What this means is that physical parts of your hard disk could start degrading and malfunctioning.

Give these troubleshooting tips a try and let me know how it goes.

This is a good sign that the utility now indicates that the attribute/parameter is no longer degrading. As I already mentioned, the 'Spin Retry Count' stores a total count of the spin start attempts to reach the fully operational speed (under the condition that the first attempt was unsuccessful). If the HDD is no longer listing this as an error, I'd suggest you also try testing that HDD from another PC as well and make sure the errors don't pop up there either.

This will help you keep your peace of mind. However, don't forget to do regular backups to prevent any potential data loss!
