Spirit Link & Oblivion Stone

Hi,

My opponent has Darksteel Colossus and Oblivion Stone in play. There is no
fate counter on DS.

On my turn I enchant his DS with Spirit Link

On his next turn he puts a fate counter on DS. On his subsequent turn he
sacrifices Oblivion Stone.

Is my Spirit Link destroyed? I think that since it is enchanting his DS it
is now "part" of DS and follows whatever happens to DS.

Incorrect, sorry. They are two seperate permanents for all purposes,
and any "destroy all enchantments" effect like Oblivion Stone or
Tranquility will take out Spirit Link.

Yes it's destroyed. But why did he put a fate counter on his
_Darksteel_ Colossus???

Yes why did he indeed? it is indestructible!

Okay. Oblivion Stone's effect won't manage to destroy Darksteel Colossus,
because the Colossus is indestructible, notice.

What's "DS"? Whatever it is, that means the Stone effect won't try to destroy
it, while resolving.

Um. Several twined misconceptions here.

The Spirit Link is not "part of" the DS, whatever that is. It is a separate
permanent; it is sitting on top of, "enchanting" or 'attached to', the DS.
It is most certainly a permanent, and isn't a land, and does not have a
fate counter on it, so the OStone effect will destroy it. This is independent
of what the OStone does to the DS.

After using the OStone, what remains in play is just the Colossus; the Stone
was sacrificed as part of the activation cost of its ability, while the Spirit
Link and the DS were both destroyed on resolution because they were not lands
and did not have fate counters on them and were permanents.

No, it's not "part" of the DS, it is an enchantment whose subject is the DS,
nothing more. When the Stone's ability resolves, it notices that Spirit
Link is a) an nonland permanent and b) doesn't have a fate counter,
and promptly destroys it. The Colossus, of course, survives, since
it has a fate counter (which is then removed).
