Splinter cell conviction freezes on ati 5400

i am having a ati 5470 hd graphic card on my dell studio laptop
and
splinter conviction game freezes a lot on my laptop
why is it so
pls help

1)From where did you get the game ?
2)Did you try re-installing ?
3)Also, which part of the game is it ? I mean the exact game ( since Splinter Cell is a saga ). Did you update your GPU drivers ?
4)Patched the game ?
5) Do you experience this problem with any other game ? Or just this one ?
