My graphics card (Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 980 ti) needs two 8-pin PCIe power connectors and my psu (EVGA superNOVA 650GQ) only has 2 PCIe connector and two cables which have one side to connect to the psu and on the other side they're split into two 6+2-pin connectors. Would it make a difference on how I connect it? Is it okay to connect it with the split cable in the end? Or do I need to use both ports on the psu?

Solution
You need to plug them all in. If the video card has 2 8 pins. You need to plug in 2 8 pins. If it was a 8+6 you need 8 and a 6. Same if it was 2 6's 1 8 or 1 6 pin. You need to connect power to all the power connectors on the video card.

Sorry, I guess I asked the question incorrectly. What I meant is should I use both cables that came with the psu and connect one from each one or do I just use one cable, one port?
