Split Sound with USB Headset

Hello,

After a long time of no issues regarding sound, my desktop has begun to split sound output for programs between my speakers and my usb headset (Logitech G35). When I set the speakers as the default device, everything works fine, but when I make the headset the default, most sound cuts out entirely. Strangely, Skype seems to always send sound through my headset, while other programs (Spotify, Chrome, etc.) will only play through speakers. Also, the weirdest thing imo is that when I set the headset as the default device, not even the "test" sound under Sound>Headset Earphone Properties>Advanced will play through the headset, though it does play when the speakers are the default device.

I've tried updating/reinstalling drivers for the headset, my AMD HD audio device, Logitech Gaming Software, and Realtek's HD audio to no avail. I've also used Window's troubleshooting and it hasn't helped.

Any suggestions are appreciated - very frustrating issue.

Thanks!

The AMD HD audio device is required when you use the HDMI port on your motherboard/GPU to connect to a source that can take advantage of audio pass through over display connectivity. In this case it may just be two sound cards conflicting with each other. Have you tried re-installing your Realtek audio drivers using their latest drivers from your board manufacturer or from their download site first and then reinstalling your USB headset drivers second? It would offer us much insight to learn of your full systems specs inclusive of your audio equipment. You're sure your BIOS and remaining device drivers are up to date?
