Hello, is it possible to spread steam games over 2 different drives, for expample, I want to put steam onto my ssd (which is where I am going to keep my most used programs) and possibly my most used games, while putting the rest of my games onto my other hard drive, can I actually do this, if so how

I am going to be building my computer soon and I haven't yet ordered my parts, however I plan to order the Samsung 840 evo 120 GB ssd and the WD caviar black hard drive, so I won't have to much problems with storage as these 2 drives are well recommended on the market

Thank you so much

There is really no point putting steam on an ssd, I have mine on my hard drive with only path of exile on my ssd (lots of loads in that game). You cant actually do it through steam you have to create folder shortcuts to fool steam into thinking its all on the same drive which will make it slightly slower. you are better off putting steam on the hard drive with your game library.

There absolutely is a very good point to putting Steam on an SSD. It's easy.

Go into Settings : Downloads, and then click on Steam Library Folders. Add a Library Folder.

Then when you download a game, you select what library folder to install the game on. Works like a champ.

Apparently there is a way you can just select which folder to put the game in, and maybe you should look into an ssd upgrade??? If your hdd is faster

I know I just want steam to load faster and I'm also gonna put my os onto the ssd for a great boot time

So could I install steam and Dayz for example onto the ssd and the rest of my games onto my hard drive

Yes, exactly.

How exactly can I do this?

I told you above.

Go into Settings : Downloads, and then click on Steam Library Folders. Add a Library Folder.

Then when you download a game, you select what library folder to install the game on. Works like a champ.
