Splitting one dvi port to multiple monitors

Hello all,

I recently bought a hdmi splitter to split 1 dvi port to two monitors.
The goal was to simply let the one dvi port split its video signal to two seperate monitors.
However, when i plug the two monitors in, the computer doesn't recognises either of them and does not output any signal.
Anyone knows how i can fix this?

Return it and exchange it for one that works? If it's set up properly and doesn't work, it's junk.

Does that port work with the monitor attached to it directly?

I second that you should RMA the part. I can't think of any reason for it not to work, so the only logical conclusion left would be that the splitter is broken.

Did you try booting without the splitter, then, once you know everything is working, disconnecting the monitor and adding the splitter in-between? If that doesn't work, it must be broken.
