Hi all,

After booting up our NT 4.0, we were hit with

'spoolss.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x010a3373" referenced memory at "0x0014c000". The
memory could not be "written". Click OK to...

Once we hit OK, all the printer icon in the printer folder disappear. The
only icon left is add printer icon. If we click on add printer icon, we
were hit with

:"operation could not be completed. The RPC server is unavailable".

Please help.

Looks like the spooler service is crashing. You may want to check out the
drwtsn32.log file to see why it may be crashing. The Win2000/XP/2003
drwtsn32.exe help has some good info on the structure of the drwtsn32.log
file.

Most common cause is non-default print monitors and print processors. I
would try removing the non-default print monitors and perhaps switching the
print processors back to Winprint.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows
NT x86\Print Processors\

You may want to export the key before any changes, just in case something
goes wrong...

Cheers,
Dimce
