[SOLVED] Spotlight force closes

When I'm in the middle of using Spotlight (either by clicking the search icon or Cmd + Space) it just closes. Mac OS 10.12.1

Has this begun happening recently (after the Sierra update)?

If so this is actually something that should also be reported on the Apple forums so other people can work on it.

I found a similar thread here, but so far the only solution given was to revert back to El Capitan: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7694734?start=0&tstart=0

Most likely this is a new Sierra issue and not something we can help troubleshoot for you here.

I'm not sure if it happened before Sierra. It's certain letters that trigger it

Does it only happen on your user account? Try it on another user account and see if it still works. That way we can narrow it down to either being an account issue or computer issue(being the whole software).
