Sprint has always been bringing up the rear among the "big three." Their "Network Vision" upgrade program started back in 2011 and it was supposed to be their version of 4G/LTE. It has yet to deliver as promised in many markets. Besides that, when was the last time anyone saw a Sprint commercial comparing themselves to AT&T and Verizon?

I've never considered Sprint proper a competitive option in the service space, but neither are AT&T or Verizon. Their MVNO network, however, is tremendously important, and I'd like to see them restructure around being a network operator with downstream MVNOs that handle the customer facing parts.
