I had been using Spy Sweeper, but it looks as though it has gone "Full
Commercial" and now charges. It was a good program, but I know there are
many spyware freeware programs that should be availible.
Does anyone have a paticular program that is freeware, and is a good program?

Thanks for any assistance or suggestions.

From the comments on others on this newsgroups, I have never recommended
this one - as it has had its fair share of bad comments to go with the
good - and not just frivilous ones.

Check here for rogue anti-spyware:

My recommended list:

Two side-notes: Never think one of these can do the whole job.
Try the first 5 before coming back and saying "That did not work!"

Hello Amber,

Here are the three most often recommended by contributors to these groups:

Ad-Aware SE
http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/

Spybot Search and Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

SpywareBlaster
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Those plus CWShredder, the URL for which I can't seem to find but use Google
and you'll get there.

And they are all free.

Colin.

See MVP Jim Eshelman's Spyware pages at

other spyware related topics.

Good luck
