The headline and story made me think about just now trying to install the .web
network CD's. I installed my old Vbasic 6, then went into installing the
network CD. 1st time it stuck with [still installing components]. I installed
this on a P1 win 98 system. It didn't take this long.
After a half hour stuck at 100% and no progress I broke in.
tried a reboot. came back with everything needing to be reinstalled.
EVERYTHING. Not just the 2 programs recently installed. It changed basic
settings on EVERYTHING.

Did a rollback.
everything's back to normal

Tried again.
Reinstalled Vbasic 6, and attempted the .web network again.
locked same place.

Haven't done a reboot yet, but I'm figuring from the fact that it repeated the
exact same way, that I'll need to do another rollback after the reboot.

Did any one get the .net framework CD's installed on XP pro ?
