Question squeaking sounds when installing CPU - Intel 13th gen

Today I was installing my 13600k on the motherboard socket for the first time and the ILM lever was making scary squeaking sounds, while I was pushing it.
I had to stop to verify that everything is aligned ok - the CPU was rotated and aligned correctly.
So I pushed the lever with a bigger force and I managed to lock the ILM.
Are such squeaking sounds normal?
Another thing, which is strange - as if pushing the lever left small scratches on the 2 sides on the base of the CPU (the protruding parts), where the ILM pushes on them.
Do you have such experience?

You might want to inspect the CPU's socket for any bent or broken pins.
