Hi guys I have a huuuuge problem I can not solve and I was thinking if you could help me, first this is my build and My brothers.
Mine.................................................. My brother's
I5 4670k@4.2...................................Fx8350
Hyper 212 EVO..................................Stock cooler
2x4 Kingston 1866 ......................... 1x8 1333
Gb Z97x SLI......................................GB 990 ud5
R9 280X. ..................................,,., R9 270
Corsair TX750(V3)........................... CM Ex625(tier 5 psu
CM 690 II B&W.................................. CM K280(it is awful)

So as you can see my brother's pc can be upgraded a lot!
His pc is hot and loud and he wants to buy a Hyper 212 but I told him I could sell him mine for $30 bucks and buy something better.
My big question If I sell the Hyper 212 to my brother I'd have $100.
What should I do? Buy an ssd? Buy and aftert market cooler such as h100i?
Help my brother with his PC I have never used one so I don't mind waiting a little more.
If you choose helping my brother, what changes would you make? Another 8Gb of memory to enable dual channel? Change that PSU? A better cooler for him? A better case?
Please help!

I think you answered your own question. If you are not running an SSD, that's your first step. You will get more improvement from an SSD than cooler, memory and PSU all put together. I don't think your 4670 needs a massive cooler, although it's nice to keep temps low, its an efficient cpu.

Good luck.

To maintain your overclock you need an aftermarket cooler. If I were you I'd keep the cooler and just add an SSD for your OS. As for your brother he can get a new hyper 212 evo for $30 so I'd recommend that and then overclock it. Also if he can either sell his stick of ram and grab 2x4gb at 1600-1866mhz ram I think would be cheaper (if he sells his).

I don't really need the overclock to be honest, I could use the stock cooler.
Also about the RAM I can't decide that I can suggest it but it's not a safe option, who knows if it'll be sold
And I wouldn't overclock his sytem with that PSU to be honest, it's just for the noise and heat
