Hello,

after about a month of use my pc has started to have screen tearing during ANY game i play and sometimes even when watching a gameplay video on youtube, even though it is fixed with V-sync it annoys me that i have a quite powerfull build but still limited to 60 FPS whatever i play.

For the first month of use i could run any game i played without V-sync on and there was absolutely no sceen tearing, then in an instant i was halfway through a game and the screen tearing started, it is very bad and makes any game almost unplayable for me.

I am sure that it has nothing to do with the monitor because i had the problem when i used an alba HDTV and now it is the same with a ViewSonic VX2253mh.

If it is needed i could provide an example of the screen tearing.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Specs:
Intel i5-2500k quad core @3.30GHz

8GB DDR3 1333mhz RAM

GeForce GTX 570 Graphics card

Asus P8P67 LE Motherboard

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Edit: Sorry about the typo in the title, for some reason i cant edit the post except in "Quick edit"

That is strange. Hope it's not the card failing. Have you tried fresh installing the drivers? Re-seating the card and the PCIe pwr cable? Was the monitor and HDTV set for the correct vertical sync? Do you have access to another video card to try?

V-Sync limits your frame rate to the refresh rate of your monitor. Any frame rate above that is entirely pointless at it cannot be physically displayed. It will just cause issues such as the screen tearing you are seeing.

You're not going to have any benefit of higher frames since your monitor refreshes at 60 Hz, and you won't notice any differences from extra FPS unless you upgrade to a 3D 120 Hz monitor.

the thing that makes me think that this is a problem is that there was absolutely no screen tearing at first, then at a random time it started. I have fresh installed the drivers but i dont have any spare graphics card to test.
