srt file not playing

I have an android 4.2.2 os and have a few movies which also have subtitle files (srt) but they are not showing up on my mobile

When I use VLC on my PC I have to make sure the srt file and the mp4 file have exactly the same name (apart from the extension), or I have to go in the menu and load the srt manually. Maybe you have the same problem?

what player are you using ?
try mxplayer or bs player
