I noticed a couple of days ago that my ssd took a few seconds longer to load on windows 7 flag animation, I'm a bit of a perfectionist so i tried everything i could think of to get it back to normal, it would load before the windows 7 animation finished, after a clean reinstallation nothing changed it still, loads after the windows 7 animation finishes.
I have an OCZ agility 3 120gb ssd. HD avg read speed is about 250 -300mbs when the specs says it should be around 500mbs any ideas?

Hi, there are a few factors that affect your SSD speed.
AHCI is probably one of the most important. After that it is important to find your fastest SATA port. On my motherboard the SATA 3 (Marvel) ports turned out to be slower than my Intel SATA 2 ports and I only get around 260mps on my 256gb Vertex 4.

No worries though because for everyday usage the 4k reads and writes are much more important and rebooting is no so important if you "sleep" your PC.
I compared my computer to a friend's with a vertex 4 who gets double my read score on SATA 3 and load speed in windows programs are basically the same.

Another thing is the drives internal self optimisations, and perhaps your drive slowed down because the drive has changed over to a slower mode. Normally cleaning up some space speeds the device up, at least on the Vertex 4 that's how it works.

There is no need to stress about this too much. It is good to notice initial problems to get the most out of the system but windows will always find a way to slow down once you start installing programs.

Im still new to using the forum so forgive me if i don't do this correctly.
I appreciate your quick and insightful response.
I guess it's because of me being a bit of perfectionist I worry too much.
But as long as its nothing serious ill just have to push myself to get over it.
