I recently swapped out my Samsung ssd for a new one to try and fix a , "not responding," problem. To make a long story short, it wasn't the drive.

However in doing so I still need to align the new ssd, unfortunately my software, "paragon alignment pro," no longer works due to a change in the way 8.1 boots. Is there a program similar to paragon that I can use to align my drive. TIA

Solution
I agree. I've had it go both ways with needing to align and not needing to. As with anything, they sometimes make a bigger deal out of things then they need to be. I'd wager most users never even bother with alignment and are ok but I'm also for double checking anything that will improve longevity, reliability and performance.
darkbreeze. according to the math, Partition Starting Offset 1,048,576 bytes / 4096 = 256 is not misaligned. But the program I was tol, "from here," to use to check it, "AS SSD," says it is. I think I'll stick to the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." unless someone proves the math wrong. what do you think?

Solution
Also, just to be certain, I checked a few drives I had around and a couple of client rigs. Several rigs that were accurately divisible, did not want to pass the AS SSD check, and then two that passed the check were off by a decimal or two when I did the math. The other four were divisible, and did pass. All were 256GB SSDs except the 240GB OCZ on my desktop, which passed both checks.
